“THEY SAW THE STAR” Part II : Thursday December 22

Matthew 2:10

"When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy"

Jesus was born in the times of a brash king called Herod; whose family was known for wickedness because of power and intention to establish his family name. While many rejoiced, about the news that was good with great tidings of joy about the glory of Christ, he and his household were sad and troubled.

Not every one that heard of the star and glory of Jesus rejoiced. Herod was one of them. He spread the hatred about the news across Jerusalem. The priests, scribes and leaders were impacted by the dark heart of the king about the news. It is surprising that they did not want to accept the reality of the prophecy of the glory.

The joy was not about king Herod. It was about the King of Glory who was sent to us in flesh to dwell among us to reform us from our deformity and shortcoming. Jesus was sent to the world with the specific mission to save the dying world. The world is still falling and dying but the Glory of God is still shinning for/on those that follow the star and will follow the star. Praise God.
