Luke 22:61

"And the Lord turned and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shall deny me thrice"

t the point Jesus turned; He had His back against Peter, and still He heard and saw all the things Peter said and did. Jesus has the power to see our inner hearts and see the end from the beginning. He is the Lord of every moment of our lives until the end.

Though Peter lost contacts with Jesus, Jesus was still in contact with him! Jesus never deals with us the way we deal with Him. Peter, like many Christians did not remember the words of Jesus, because of the situation the chief priests had condemned Jesus.

Why did Jesus just give a look and not just called out for his name? Jesus was the perfect Master. He knew the kind of treatment Peter would get if the truth about his identity came out from Jesus – The way, the truth, and life. Peter would get into the trouble of his life and be put to shame. Jesus never put us to shame. Even with the extreme agony that Jesus just experienced and with what was about to happen to Him, He was still in the lookout for Peter. Whenever we read any devotional, we are in contact with Jesus and we must remember that Jesus is still looking out at us and for us!  Peter remembered the word with look. The admonition today is that we remember the power of Jesus with spiritual visual contact. Whenever we hold the Bible, we must remember the look and the word of Jesus towards us. Amen.
