“THE LORD TURNED AND LOOKED” – Final Part

Luke 22:61

"And the Lord turned and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shall deny me thrice"

According to the Bible passage, Jesus is Lord – He turned and looked upon Peter. The look between Jesus and Peter was a visual touch that no one else understood apart from Peter and Jesus. The significant purpose of the look was to make Peter recall what Jesus had earlier told him and teach him how to be able to stand his ground for JESUS!

It was a good thing for Peter to remember how he had failed himself in his duties when needed most, simply because of the fear of the chief priests and their security agents around. At that moment, Peter was neither nice or kind to Jesus. He lost his natural and spiritual ability to prove what he had learnt from Jesus. He lost touch with Jesus at the most crucial time.

Jesus knows all about our weaknesses. He is still looking out for us especially when we slip out of his sight.  He is looking at someone this morning with the kind of look that touches the heart of Peter. The looks that can touch and heal all shortcomings, the looks that bring about repentance, the looks that ask questions. Get closer to the word of the Lord. You will be in close touch again with the Master. The word can bring you back on track. Peter came back on track after all the three denials. He repented and was not only forgiven but was restored, but there must be repentance. PRAISE GOD!
