Genesis 32:10
"I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou Hast shewed unto thy servant; for which my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I am become two bands."
Jacob thought he was not worth of any mercy because of all his mess, but God’s view of him was not the same way. There is no one that is not worthy of the mercy of God. His mercy ; even comes easier and faster towards the worst offenders who could realize their wrong doings.
The prodigal son in Luke chapter 15 received mercy of the father because he realized his mess and wrongdoings and headed back home; with the hopelessness that he never worth the mercy of son from the father. Hey, the prodigal son was still a son of the father in his mess. He was still a son in his spending spree. He was still a son in his own world of sins. In any mess you find yourself, I announce to you that you cannot lose your identity of a son/daughter, in Jesus Name. Amen.
Mercy is a major attribute of God. He gives mercy to whom He wants. Mercy does not measure up to our own opinion. It is not to whom is willing or runneth. Mercy comes by the special grace of God. Jacob received mercy because God chose to apply mercy to his (Jacob’s) mess. As you read this devotional today, no matter your mess, you are still a son/daughter. All you need to do is to return home. The doors of your father’s house is still open to mercy. Come on enter your mercy season, in Jesus Name. Amen.
