“GOD THAT SHOWETH MERCY” : Monday July 24

Romans 9:16

"So then, it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that showeth mercy"

God will have mercy on whom He will. He decides who gets mercy and who does not. No matter the assessment of the whole world; God Has the final authority on how He distributes mercy. No one can fault God in any of His ways. It was solely based on His mercies that God considered David as a man after His own heart.

The mercy of God is great and inexhaustible. He gives in measures that He only determines. God uses His power to make some as vessels unto wrath and uses His Glory to make some vessels unto mercy. Vessels unto wrath are fitted to destruction according to Romans 19: 22, but verse 23 refers to vessels unto mercy to enjoy the blessing of His riches in mercy.

God does not want us to reap or perish in our iniquity and that is the reason why He is merciful showing us mercy always and averting Justice. Living by the standards of God provokes His mercy and living otherwise provokes His wrath. His mercy is a clarion call to repentance from our sinful habits. Prophet Hosea in Hosea 10:12 recalls how the time is far spent to seek the Lord. The return of our Lord Jesus is less one day today. No matter the “Babylonian experience” you must be expectant. There is mercy for revival and restoration. Your set time for mercy is now, in Jesus Name. Amen.

Prayer points for the day
