“FRIEND, GO UP HIGHER” – Part I

Luke 14:10

"But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shall thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee."

To go up higher means undeniable recognition and promotion. Those that would be recognized and eventually promoted start with life of humility and hard work; without any iota of deceit. Higher ground is for the chosen and the elect. Higher ground is an exclusive reserve for those that can tarry in instruction. Jesus requested the Apostles to tarry for Him in Jerusalem. For how long? We do not know, but it resulted in power that took them to higher ground of divine exploits.

 

Friend, go up higher, is taken from one of the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ to emphasize on how to be recognized for a higher position by genuine humility and service.

 

Lower ground is there, full and available for all, but the higher ground is not yet full. It is reserved, and Jesus wants you and me to progress up to higher ground. Jesus attained to higher ground with total submission and surrender to the will of God. He was physically denied and abused but not spiritually! He was crucified on “The Higher Ground”; the cross; mocked and humiliated: but was not in vain. Jesus went up higher, but endured in all things. Friend, go up higher. The road to higher ground may be rough and bitter, but the end result is great and sweet. PRAISE GOD.

Prayer points for the day

• 1) Father, today, I thank you for the gift of your Holy Spirit in my life, in Jesus Name.
• 2) Almighty God, I thank you for the gift of your Holy Spirit that would never fail, in my life, in Jesus Name.
• 3) Father, forever, let me remain in you without looking back, in Jesus Name.
• 4) Almighty God, thank you for giving me victory even in the hardest battles of life, in Jesus Name.
• 5) Lord, by fine Holy Ghost fire, remove all the spirits that can hinder SPIRIT, in my life in Jesus Name.
• 6) Lord, let my life continue to march forward, by your Spirit, in Jesus Name.
• 7) Father, this month of March, give me the special Spirit to know more of thy mysteries, in Jesus Name. Amen.
