“INHERITING THE KINGDOM OF GOD”

Galatians 5:21

"Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God"

There is something that is capturing about this particular verse; and that is the grouping of envying with murders. Both fall under the fruit of the flesh that work and strife against the fruit of the Holy Spirit. The fruit of the flesh always wrestle with the fruit of the Spirit.

 

People that envy a lot can result into murder and so to put them (envy and murder) in the same ‘bucket’ seems justified. However, God has the final say not man; not even Paul that wrote this warning to the Galatians’ Christians. The question is why should Christians envy anyway?

 

This is an opportunity today to know and realize that envy is as serious as murder and may take away the Kingdom of God from any erring child of God. What God has done for someone, HE can do for you. God knows exactly where you are in life and knows exactly where you should be next. All your efforts cannot help God, but God can help your efforts. God can bless and make you great even in your ‘wilderness experience’ which means your own personal experience. The ultimate is the Kingdom of God, not the kingdom of this world that may disappear with one finger touch of God. Seek ye first the kingdom of God to complement your efforts and the heaven will favor you.

Prayer points for the day

• 1) Father, thank you for the Kingdom of God, in Jesus Name.
• 2) Father, thank you for allowing me and my family to see the end of this month of April 2014 in peace, in Jesus Name.
• 3) Lord, thank you for the favor of strength, grace and mercy in Jesus Name.
• 4) Lord, thank you for allowing my life and that of my family to move forward into the month of May 2014 and beyond, in Jesus Name.
• 5) Lord, let your power continually help my efforts towards making success, in Jesus Name.
• 6) Almighty God, I need your help in all areas of my life, in Jesus Name.
• 7) Father, favor me and put let be continue to grow under the banner of your grace, in Jesus Name.
