Genesis 37:20
“Come now therefore, and let us slay him (Joseph), and cast him (Joseph ) into some pit, and we will say, some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become his dreams.”
The plan of devourer against a junior brother is ungodly. However, the brother of Joseph used it as a point of conspiracy to get rid of him. At this point it was in and advance stage. It looked like a perfect evil counsel, but for God of divine intervention. These brothers are more than the worst beasts ; because beasts of the same kind do protect themselves always.
The attitude to eliminate a brother or any human being is demonic and ungodly. The big brother Rueben ; who was part of the arrangement behaved as if he wanted to rescue Joseph ; but instead he devised another means of eliminating his dreamer junior brother. If he was sincere he should have advised others to stop the conspiracies. Is Only God that can save us from the evil plans of the wicked, not man, however close.
However, people are close to us, we should not take them for granted. If the above could happen in the good old Bible days, then, it can happen in our days. This is the reason why God must intervene for us in all situations. Joseph had no power against other eleven brothers but God was able to intervene and destabilize their plans. Joseph maintained a life of the just who was living by faith and it worked for him. Amen
Prayer points for the day
1) Father, thank you for intervening for me and family, in Jesus Name.
2) Lord, justify me and let me live by faith, in Jesus Name.
3) Father, intervene for me and destabilize the counsel of all my adversaries, in Jesus Name.
4) Lord, my eyes are on you, intervene for me in all the endeavors of my life, in Jesus Name.
5) Lord, shut down every devourer and their planners, in my life, in Jesus Name.
6) Father, fire proof my destiny from every counsel of the wicked, in Jesus Name.
7) Father, cover me and my household from everything and anything known as devourers, in Jesus Name. Amen.
