“A MOTHER’S CRY FOR HELP” – Part II

Matthew 15:22

"And, behold, a woman of Canaan, came out of the same coasts, and cried unto HIM, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil"

The mercy of God always precedes special healing and blessing. The call of this woman on our Lord Jesus Christ was deeply passionate and desperate. To call Jesus thou Son of God is a sign of close knit relationship with Him. It means knowing who Jesus really was and what He could do. The woman had to cross coasts and boundaries to get to Jesus, for the sake of her daughter. She needed something not easy to obtain in her region hence, she looked out for Jesus by all means for help.

Matthew 15:23 revealed that Jesus did not initially answer her and his disciples who were yet to become apostles also besought Jesus not to pay attention to her cry for help and let her go away, because she did not belong.

Where was the father of this girl? Not so much in the picture, but for the woman –  no matter what bedeviled the girl, she was still her precious daughter. The mystery on the daughter became the mystery on the mother.  The need for solution drove this woman to Christ not away from HIM. Her trial was found unto desperation and she never ceased to pursue Jesus. She knew that the power of Jesus could command superiority over the devil hence she did not give up in pursuit of Jesus. To her, it was a matter of time. She tried all she could and left the rest process to Jesus. The cry after Jesus always results in miracles, signs and wonders. The solution to most difficult issues of life might simply be mercy. Do not just pray for mercy cry for it and in due season, your allocation of mercy shall be released.
