“A MOTHER’S CRY FOR HELP” – Part III

Matthew 15:22

"And, behold, a woman of Canaan, came out of the same coasts, and cried unto HIM, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil"

This woman of Canaan, who came a long way to look for Jesus, must have heard something extra ordinary about  the power of Jesus. She requested for mercy, because she understood the place of mercy regarding her circumstances with her daughter, which did not require any more medical, but spiritual.

Initially, it seemed as if Jesus wanted to disregard her plea for mercy, and draw her away from her desired answer. NO. Please note that every accepted prayer is not immediately an answered prayer. Job 23:6 says “Will He plead against me with His great power? No; but He would put strength in me.” it might be a test on the woman to be more earnest and persistent in prayers. The response  from Jesus was actually discouraging to the woman’s request in Matthew 15:24 where Jesus confirmed that “He was not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”  However, the woman stayed on track!

As you read this devotional this morning, are you at the point of discouragement with the feelings that it is over? I have good news for you. It is not over yet. In every situation God Has arranged for you a divine helper who is more than able. Despite the discouraging disciples, coupled with what she heard from Jesus, she believed that the cure for her bedeviled daughter was with Jesus. Pursue after Jesus like this woman of rare faith and you will never be disappointed, in Jesus Name.

Prayer points for the day

1) Father, thank you for the cure to my spirit soul and body, in Jesus Name.

2) Father, thank you because I may be helpless now, but not hopeless, in Jesus Name.

3) Almighty God, my eyes are on you, make ways for all my divine helpers to locate me, today as I am reading in Jesus Name.

4) Lord, you alone have the final say, speak concerning my life for your divine help, in Jesus Name.

5) Father, I am desperate for your mercy, let me receive your mercies today, in Jesus Name.

6) Lord, help me through all difficult situations of my life, in  Jesus Name.

7) Father, give me strength from inside out in all situations that I may face in Jesus Name. Amen.

Have a blessed and wonderful day!
