“TO DRINK OF THE CUP” – PART 1

Matthew 20:22

"But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask, Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, we are able".

Our Lord Jesus Christ is the reason for the season. He was allowed to be born of man also for a reason. Furthermore as prophesied by prophet Isaiah; ….Unto us, Jesus was born as a child and unto us again Jesus was given as a son. The caveat of the prophet is the gift of Jesus to the whole world to declare victory over darkness.

However, the world as a whole does not accept the gift of Jesus, because of so many questions and reasoning of the world.  Still Jesus was a voluntary and sincere gift given by God. It was long after the creation, that Jesus was given to us so that the world could know peace one more time, but the world does not accept the gift of peace.

In the Bible days, the profound and renown followers of Jesus wanted to be like Jesus. They wanted to follow all of the steps that Jesus followed. They took it upon themselves and even said they were able. They wanted to drink the “CUP” that Jesus drank. They wanted to perform the miracles that Jesus performed. They were meticulous to be everything “JESUS”, even drink the cup Jesus drank and be baptized the way Jesus was baptized, but there would be the a price. “THE CUP”. To be like Jesus, we must be prepared to surrender all, in spirit and in truth.

Prayer points for the day

• 1) Father, thank you for the child born and for the only son given for our peace in Jesus Name.
• 2) Almighty God, thank you for the season of giving and gathering, in Jesus Name.
• 3) Lord, thank you for the cup that Jesus had to drink to redeem us, in Jesus Name.
• 4) Lord, thank you for the undeniable and everlasting gift of Jesus, in Jesus Name.
• 5) Almighty God, thank you for bringing light of Jesus into the darkness of the world, in Jesus Name.
• 6) Lord, let this season be my own time of receiving from you directly, in Jesus Name.
• 7) Father, with the few days to another New Year, you are still my God, I am ready for or 11th hour miracles in my household, in Jesus Name. Amen.
