Luke 1:20
"And behold , thou shall be dumb, and not be able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season"
God is again calling our attention to the “dumb” reaction of Zachariah and the consequences for about nine months. Our God is very kind and full of mercy. This man of God Zachariah must have witnessed God; or in the least heard of the wonderful performances of God’s power for other people.
However, the priest understood for others divine performance from God, but when his own set time of good tidings came he could not understand. The following might be some of his dumb questions. 1) Why was God performing His words at his old age? 2) Why was God remembering his wife at this well stricken age? 3) Why was God now looking at his family after his long time as a Priest? 4) Who will take care of this child? 5) Both himself and wife are old; how come at this timing? 6) What will become of the future of this child? and many other questions in the head of Priest Zachariah.
We need to just keep quiet and allow God to perform His good works in our lives. A “dumb” response of any one to God’s promise will not prevent God from performing His promises. The Bible Says in 2 Corinthians 1:20 “For all the promises of God in HIM are yea, and in HIM Amen, unto the Glory of God by us” There are promises of God with/in Jesus; God made all things possible in Him and with Him. Whenever, there is divine visitation on you in any manner; it means God is set to perform wonders. Do not become dumb to the power of HIS divine performance.
