“THE CRY OUT OF STONES”

Luke 19:40

"And He answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out"

The Sunday before the resurrection day, Jesus rode the on the colt’s back into Jerusalem. The Pharisees who happened to be amongst the crowd called on Jesus as Master to rebuke the disciples from rejoicing and praising God with loud voice for all the mighty works, signs, and wonders that God had done through Jesus.

The Bible passage above was the reaction of Jesus to the Pharisees. Jesus noticed their joy, but those that were anti – Jesus wanted the joy and praises stopped. Jesus instead rebuked the Pharisees and was quick to let them know that if no one rejoiced and praised God for who God is, then the stones would be raised to rejoice and begin to praise God.

The conclusion of the matter is that if we refuse to rejoice and praise God, especially for His blessings and care over us, there will be another arrangement for the praise to come. Stones represent others that can be blessed to acknowledge the blessings and begin to praise God. Likewise, when we refuse to serve in any particular role for God’s sake, God is able to raise others to serve, and even more better. Let us ensure that we do not miss out on opportunities to praise and serve God! Amen.
