“MADE HIMSELF OF NO REPUTATION – HIGHLY EXALTED HIM” Part II : Tuesday May 3

Philippians 2: 7-10

7 "But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men.
8 - And being found in the fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death on the cross.
9- Wherefore God Hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name.
10- That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;"

The verse 7 above is referring to one of the attributes of Jesus. Yesterday, it was highlighted that to be exalted is to be lifted up. Our Lord Jesus demonstrated four crucial characteristics in the above passages that resulted in God the Father to highly exalt HIM.

1) He made Himself of no reputation.

2) He became a Bond servant.

3) He Humbled himself.

4) He became Obedient.

Let us examine how Jesus made Himself of no reputation. Just pretend as if your father is one of the richest man in this world. Automatically, you will be tagged with high reputation because of your father. Jesus being the only Son of God, who created the heaven and earth, is known for the reputation of God. However, he made himself of no such powerful reputation. He set aside His high reputation in order to be highly exalted.

The admonition today is that we should not hold ourselves and reputations beyond the power of God. Whatever we have and are come from above. John 3:27 Says ” John answered and said, A man can receive nothing , except it be given him from above.” The Kingdom of God is full of answers. Let us be Kingdom minded and hope on God for our progress after we have done our human best. AMEN.
