“HIGHLY EXALTED HIM” Part I : Monday May 2

Philippians 2: 7-10

"But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. 8 - And being found in the fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death on the cross. 9- Wherefore God Hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name. 10- That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;"

it is necessary to have as many passages as given above, in order to be able to capture the context of this series. To be exalted means to be lifted. Jesus Christ enjoyed a permanent divine lifting because He worked according to the will of God. Jesus was given to us as the example to follow, in the will of God.

Following Jesus should not be as difficult as we see it, and also not as easy because of all the things surrounding us, especially all the cares and burdens of this world. Let us reconcile the wisdom of God to make us in His own image and His sending Jesus to our midst in the likeness of man! Jesus experienced all the pain and discipline in flesh.

Jesus had blood running all over His body like us. He was humiliated, abused, wrongly accused and persecuted, yet never sinned. He was a man with spirit, soul and body. He endured all shame and insult for our sake. God had to lift Him up above all things; to be under His control, having tested His nature, etc. Our God is huge in testing us. If Jesus was not spared ; no one would be spared. Are you passing through a test today? What did Jesus do in His testing days/ periods will be examined as we go into the month. May the words of God be light on paths and lamp upon out feet, in Jesus Name. Amen.
