“HE THAT OVERCOMETH”

Revelation 21:7

"He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God and he shall be my son."

Jesus Christ overcame in all things and has been given all authority over everything in heaven and in earth. Jesus overcame in all things that this devotional cannot contain. The most recent and the last thing He overcame was death and sin on the CROSS!

He was able to overcome death because He surrendered to the will of God the Father, honoring the Father in a manner that no one had ever done. When we endure in all things, we honor God. He went to the cross because the Father designed it to be. In the book of Matthew 27:28-37, all that Jesus overcame in the natural are listed. We too, can overcome!

The summary of triumphs that Jesus was given power over to endure and overcome are 1) stripped and was left with a scarlet of robe to cover His nakedness. 2) He was crowned with a crown of thorns. 3) His right hand was reed. 4) His kneels were bowed (broken) before him. 5) He was mocked.6) They spat on Him. 7) Smote Him on the head 8) Naked Him again and put on Him the torn raiment. As if all these were not enough. He was beaten as they led Him to Golgotha. He was thirsty and needed some hydration, but Jesus was given vinegar drink mixed with gall. Indeed, Jesus is a victor!

To overcome, we must endure. Our Lord Jesus endured all the above in order to inherit the Kingdom of God, everlasting life and the name above every other name. Brethren, by God’s grace and strength, we too can endure to overcome! Amen.
