“GIVING THANKS BEFORE YOUR GOD”. Part II : Wednesday November 9

Daniel 6:10

Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house ; and his windows being open in his chamber towards Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did afore time."

Psalms 55:17 is in agreement with the attitude of Daniel. It says ” Evening, and morning, and noon, will I pray , and cry aloud : and He shall hear my voice. It is certain that every time the Psalmist prayed, he would give thanks and ask God for daily mercy. We eat three times, we should also feed our souls thrice a day in prayers. Imagine how the true Islam pray five times a day!

Daniel did not allow the evil writing and pronouncements of the king to stop him from his regular prayer life. He did not pray under cover. He prayed with his windows open not to show off his prayer life in pride, but to the show Babylon what the power of prayer can do.

The Bible passage also revealed that he knelt down on his knees. This is to give God the highest reference with humility. Remember, at this time Daniel was well known in Babylon. He thrived in his own area. He prospered despite the downside of the economy of Babylon at that time. He did not live his life based on the Babylonian economy. He lived based on heavenly economy. Prayer with thanksgiving brings success in what ever you do. Thank God for what you have and those things you are believing God to have and at the appropriate time God will respond, in Jesus Name. Amen.
