”FOR SHE LOVED MUCH”. Part III: Wednesday February 17

Luke 7:47

KJV
“Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much : but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.”
NLT I tell you, her sins- and they are many - have been forgiven, so much she has shown me much love. But a person who is forgiven little shows only little love.”

Love of God is the basis of forgiveness we receive on daily basis. Love expressed out of pure heart of the woman was made evident to Jesus, hence the forgiveness. Sins should not be ignored or covered. Our sins must be dealt with ; hence the need for forgiveness and mercy or else there will be eternal consequences of punishment. Sin covered is like a seed that will soon germinate if not uprooted.

The response of love Jesus shown to the woman erased all her past sins. The woman even cried before she approached Jesus. She felt not worthy. She felt genuinely sorry. The people around condemned her actions of love but Jesus intervened and rescued her from the mouths and hands of the wickedness of the wicked who wanted her sins to remain upon her.

The woman seized the moment to show her genuine love to Jesus. It was a rare opportunity to have close encounter of love for Jesus and she did it right. Jesus noted her intent for genuine love and HE spoke to memorialize her love and till this day we still read about it according to Jesus. It could be said to be love at its ultimate. Amen.
