Ezra 7: 28

"And hath extended mercy unto me before the king, and his counselors, and before all the king's mighty princes. And I was strengthened as the hand of the Lord my God was upon me, and I gathered together out of Israel chief men to go up with me"

When God selected Prophet Ezra to rebuilt and restore the ruined people of Israel, He made all the necessary provisions for materials and men and He lacked nothing; because of mercy extended from God through a powerful king.

The king even documented the mercy in writing by a decree that no one could change. When God shows mercy to a man it is different from when man shows mercy. The king also made sure that the palace officials, counselors and high ranking princes were present to witness the enormity of the mercy – all because the mighty hand of God was involved with power. Ezra was strengthened all throughout the assignment of his lifetime.

Mercy is of the Lord, but always through man. Mercy is God’s divine nature. When you see a merciful man, he carries the nature of God. Ezra had reference as a great scribe in the days of Moses. He had good track record. He never faulted in the times of Moses, so God had him in mind for the future and God remembered Ezra without Moses’s recommendation. Whatever you do in any set up; do it as if you have the future in mind. Do it well. Mercy would answer for you in times of need. If man does not reward you there is God above all men who are watching. The day of reward is ahead not behind you. Praise God.
