EARNEST REMEMBRANCE” Part 1 : Friday January 22

Jeremiah 31: 20

"Is Ephraim my dear son? Is he a pleasant child?, for since I spake against him, I do earnestly remember him still: therefore my bowels are troubled for him; I will surely have mercy upon him, saith the Lord'

In the above Bible passage this morning, God in HIS Sovereign power was speaking to the needs of Ephraim; one of the descendants of Abraham, a direct son of Joseph. Equally, as you read this devotional regularly, it translates that you are identified with us as the heirs of Abraham; as a result, you are duly included in the loop of this particular declaration of the word of God.

We at The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Amazing Grace Sanctuary are in the season of divine remembrance this month and indeed for the rest of this year. God that earnestly remembered Ephraim is still the same God, in the same place and with the same agenda. He never fails in HIS Covenant for us. You will be earnestly remembered.

Ephraim was one of the children of Joseph and expectedly one would think that he would live after the pattern of his father. However, he did not. What went wrong? He backslided with the majority and fell off the radar of God for some time. At that time, he actually joined himself to idols and God decided to let him go. Please refer to Hosea 4:17 which Says “Ephraim is joined to idols ; let him alone”. He joined others that turned their back against God. The idols made him and others to err before the Lord. However, he (Ephraim) bemoaned himself as stated in verse 18 and God chastised him and thereafter showed mercy. How many people can have the opportunity to stage a come back like Ephraim without the exclusive mercy of God?

Prayer points for the day

1) Father, thank you for giving me the unspeakable free gift of another day, in Jesus Name.

2) Father, thank you for your unreserved lovingkindness and tender mercies for me and my household this day, in Jesus Name.

3) Father, thank you for your unspeakable protection and provision for me and my household, in Jesus Name.

4) Father, thank you for turning my reproach to your divine glory, in Jesus Name.

5) Lord, thank you for taking me from glory to glory in Jesus Name.

6) Father, earnestly remember to make me a sign and wonder to my generation, in Jesus Name.

7) Almighty God, as you remembered Ephraim in earnest as your pleasant child, remember me Oh my God; in earnest, in Jesus Name. Amen.

Have a blessed and wonderful day!
