“BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL”

Matthew 6:13

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

The prayer that Jesus Christ taught us in this scripture is very deep and important to our daily lives. For example, verse 13 reveals that there is will always be temptation all around us in this world, and temptation is evil and of the devil. Beginning in the old-testament days when the devil tempted humanity via Adam, humanity fell and since then the devil brought evil to the world through various forms of temptation.

Since then, temptation has come into the world in various styles and manners. It is only a lifetime of a consistent and strong prayer-life that would shield us from falling for temptation. If we leave a vacuum in our heart, realize that temptation will surely welcome itself into that vacuum and will desire to reside there until the damage is done.

However, God, has made a provision for all of us by giving His only begotten son, JESUS. Only He can prevent us from being led into temptation by any circumstances. With the divine power given to Jesus, we can be delivered from the power of evil, and will reign with Him in His Kingdom from here till eternity.  He is more than able to deliver us and to keep us safe all the time. The grace is sufficient and available through Jesus Christ; the only standard that we should follow. Though God’s standard NEVER changes, note that He is the unchangeable changer. God can change us to meet up with His standards. I pray that we never live in denial that He should change to meet ours! Praise God!!!!!
