John 20: 25
"The other disciples therefore said unto him, (Disciple Thomas ) We have seen the Lord. But he (Disciple Thomas )said unto them, except I shall see in HIS (Jesus) hands the print of the nails, and put my (Disciple Thomas) finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into His (Jesus) side , I will not believe."
If Thomas, who was one of direct disciples of Jesus said “except I shall see in HIS (Jesus) hands the print of the nails, and put my (Disciple Thomas) finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into His (Jesus) side , I will not believe.” , then we can say that many believers and followers of Jesus Christ may be like Thomas. They always want to receive before they believe.
Thomas simply based his faith on physical evidence. This is exactly what is weakening our faith in this generation. The other disciples announced with great joy of having seen the Lord when Thomas was absent. The question now is where was Thomas when the others were still together finding ways to continue where the Master Jesus stopped?With his absence, Thomas missed the initial joy and satisfaction of resurrection.
As Thomas had no reasons to doubt the resurrection when ten other disciples told him they had seen the Lord. We should also have no doubts about all we have heard, read and taught about the Life, death and resurrection of Jesus. Thomas actually wanted proof that Jesus rose from the death and he got it. Thomas tied his faith to evidence. He had a form of Godliness, but deny the power thereof…. Ref 2 Tim. 3:5. Lord have mercy and fill our hearts with the truth and power of resurrection, in Jesus Name. Amen.
Prayer points for the day
1) Father, thank you for the manifestation of the power of resurrection, in Jesus Name.
2) Father, do not let me shortcomings cause me to miss the joy and satisfaction of resurrection power, in Jesus Name.
3) Lord, let me and family experience the power of resurrection this season, in Jesus Name.
4) Lord, let the power of resurrection fall upon my life and family, in Jesus Name.
5) Father, let my life progress with this season, in Jesus Name.
6) Lord, let the power of resurrection deliver me from known and unknown adversaries, in Jesus Name.
7) Almighty God, let the power of resurrection fight for me and family, in Jesus Name. Amen.
