“FRIEND, GO UP HIGHER” – Final Part

Luke 14:10

"But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shall thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee."

This past weekend an invited guest speaker Pastor Morakinyo Olumodimu dealt with the teachings of the “GLORY OF HIGHER GROUND”. Using Psalm 61:1-2, he articulated the outline with simplicity and applicability to all and sundry. Some of the points have been highlighted below:

1) The higher ground is a place to hear God clearly.

2) The higher ground is a place to see more clearly.

3) The higher ground is a place of divine unveiling.

The above Bible passage is an assurance that Jesus wants us to be with Him in the higher disposition. He always sets Himself on High Mountain apart, because upon the mountain, there is proper focus of the whole universe. People at the base of the valley cannot see what is going on upon the mountain. Furthermore, when you are on top of situation of life, you are likely to be more of a visionary and less frustrated.

Brethren, there is a glory of God relating to higher ground that is awaiting us on top of the mountain. Jesus is not just a savior to us, He is our friend and provider and He wants us to be with Him on higher ground . He is our most reliable and dependable friend, a friend so lovely that He laid down His life for us. He wants to lift us up. He wants to see us motivated and promoted, rather than frustrated. What a Friend we have in JESUS! He is more than able and would ensure that we make it to the higher ground. Amen.
