“THEY CAME TO MARAH”

Exo 15:23

"And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter; therefore the name was called Marah"

At some point in life people will get to their place of Marah. The place of Marah is the temporary bitterness of life that only God can make a way and turn the bitterness to sweetness. The people of Israel so much murmured and grumbled against Moses and God that they were blinded to the solution. However, God opened the eyes of Moses to the solution.

As Christians, we may have problems but our problems must not have us!God that turned the Marah water from bitterness to sweetness is still the same God today and He is more than able to turn whatever Marah you are facing into sweet water. Marah is a temporary unbearable season and must surely come to an end. With God, your Marah water will soon turn sweet. HE opened the eyes of Moses to the source of the solution, because Moses was not part of the grumbling group. How are you reacting to your own Marah? In Ex. 15:24 while others murmured and grumbled Moses did not, instead he prayed in Ex. 15:25.  That was when God responded. God did not respond to murmuring and grumbling of the others, God responded to prayer. Endure your Marah and pray for the way out of Marah. Our God still answers prayers.

I do not know of the bitter situation you  may be facing: at work, in relationship, at home, in your marriage, in your finances, in your health, even in your country. But God is aware of the situation and will pay attention to it only if you can cry as Moses did unto God in verse 25.  Continuously call out to Him, our Ancient of Days is surely faithful to hear and answer us!
