“THE SOULS THEY HAD GOTTEN” : Wednesday August 5

Genesis 12:5

"And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came."

Abram knew the important of souls around him in Haran. These souls were not necessarily his direct family members. The Bible said “the souls that they had gotten” In the journey to the promised land, Abram considered other souls apart from his own family. He did not want those souls to continue to suffer or perish in Haran.

These are probably the souls that are tied to the destiny of Abram to be saved from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorra. Haran was the land to be crossed to get into the land of Canaan. There, Abram sojourned to see some souls to get with him to safety and the promised land. He therefore won those souls to the glory of God. He was wise, as those souls meant a lot to God.

Along the journey of life, there are souls tied to your own destiny as well. The question is that as a Christian, how have you treated those souls from fulfilling their destiny through your own destiny? Are you seeing those souls as troublesome, bad, unworthy or as in need? Your soul has been settled and blessed in order to be a blessing to another soul. Settle other souls, gather them as your substance. Extend your hands of fellowship to souls in your ” Haran” as you journey to your promised land. It is an essential kingdom service to win a soul from perishing and it will be credited to you as fulfilling your purpose. Amen.
