“OPEN DOOR PRAYERS”

Acts 12: 5

"Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him"

Peter was arrested and placed in the maximum prison where he was dehumanized on the orders of Herod the king. The church remembered the importance of corporate prayer and prayed without ceasing. The Bible Says in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 “Pray without ceasing”. That means spending quality time in prayer.

The anointing to pray by the church together is different from individual anointing to pray alone. Whenever the need arises, the church should pray together especially in any urgent case as

Peter’s. God responds to desperate prayer of desperate people. Remember the specific prayer of Hannah in Shiloh. Prayer still works for those that can pray and believe.

The prayer of the church for Peter; unto the Lord was specific. It was direct to the cause and God stepped in quickly. This is your season of open door; only if you can intercede for someone, friends and family or on behalf of yourself. Organize prayer, to intercede for any one who might be in a “prison” experience situation today. There is power in prayer. Join the assembly of a praying group and allow God to move. The God that moved and rescued Peter in the day he was imprisoned is still the same God. When you come to the end of yourself in your efforts, let prayer have it’s own place. Jesus always prayed. Pray this Holy Week when Jesus started His preparation for the cross. Use this week to be a changed Christian towards the attitude of prayer. Let something change within you so that things around you can change. AMEN.
