Hosea 6:3
"Then we shall know, if we follow on to know the Lord: His going forth is prepared as the morning; and He shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth."
There is the season of former and latter rain. Some people are blessed by former rain, while some are blessed by the latter. Which ever one you get, the critical thing is to use the seasons well. God is the final prerogative to give either rain in due season.
The former rain comes early and the latter rain later. In our contemporary world we may consider them to be in the spring (former) and autumn (latter) respectively. In the terms of the Gospel, latter rain is when the Holy Spirit takes over mightily against the flesh. When the gifts of the spiritual authority and power move amongst the people of God. Whenever, the blessing arises, please recognize it and make good use of the season.
The import of this devotion is to understand and recognize your season. If you miss your season now, wait upon the Lord as it will come back again: as long as you are still alive. There is a season for every one of us. May we know the Lord who controls all seasons. The way and means of catching up on your season is to be vigilant and sober. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you. Be patient to learn and know your own seasons. You must know that God is the one to follow, not your own self. You have known and followed yourself enough. It is time to know Jesus and follow HIM: who said come unto me all ye that labor and heavy laden…….. There is showers of blessing with Jesus. AMEN.
Prayer points for the day
1) Father, thank you for the season and spirit of a new dawn in my life, in Jesus Name.
2) Lord, let the showers of blessing wash away all the filthiness in my life, in Jesus Name.
3) Father, let me use my season well by your grace in Jesus Name. Amen.
4) Father, do not allow me to miss my season of showers of blessing, in Jesus Name. Amen.
5) Father, let my rain come in due season so that my latter rain will not become former and former will not become latter, in Jesus Name.
6) Lord, I will not be found wanton or missing during my season, in Jesus Name. Amen.
7) Father, let my due seasons come at the appointed time, in Jesus Name.
