Habakkuk 3:17-19
"Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruits be in the vines; the labor of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock from the fold, and there shall be no herb in the stalls; 18) Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. 19) The Lord God is my strength , and He will make my feet like hinds' feet, and He will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments."
For the prophet to say that “Yet I will rejoice in the Lord. I will joy in the God of my salvation.” He was sure that God will not allow HIS people to suffer for long ; if only they could express gratitude unto HIm; no matter what the situations looked like!
God is ever ready to do more in abundance and exceedingly that the fig tree, fruits in the wine, meat in the fields etc. He Has all in His Hands to hold, withhold and to release in due season. Whenever God holds back anything, it is for a reason and a season. After each bad season there is an equivalent new good season that follows.
This season of gratitude, how much of the blessings have we given to God to express our thanks? The Psalmist said “Bless the Lord O my soul and all that is within me. And forget not His benefits.” In terms of our talent, time and treasure; let us give ourselves out to the service of God first and we would please God. Giving thanks will facilitate our heavens to open for more blessings. Amen
Prayer points for the day
1) Father, thank you for the light of another day, in Jesus Name. Amen.
2) Lord, forgive me of all my shortcomings, in Jesus Name. Amen.
3) Father, give me life of Holiness and significance in thy presence in Jesus Name.
4) Lord as this year is running to an end, let all evil come to an end in our world, in Jesus Name.
5) Father, give me the heart full of thanksgiving, in Jesus Name.
6) Lord, thank you for the journey and purpose of my life in Jesus Name.
7) Father,as I give myself to you as thanksgiving, give me more life of thanksgiving, in Jesus Name. Amen.
