1 Chronicles 4:10
"And Jabez called on God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and thine hand might be upon me, and that wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested."
Jabez continued to place all he needed to live a sorrow free life before the Almighty God. The devil was able to know that Jabez was about to be blessed indeed and to be enlarged indeed. Jabez, however was prepared and sought God not only for blessings but protection from evil.
Maybe, and I repeat may be, Jabez had known about Job and others in the Bible that God blessed and the devil still attacked them. Hence, Jabez said let the hand of God be upon him and that God should keep him away from evil. The prayers of Jabez was all about him. He knew that if the head of the family is down the whole house is doomed; therefore, he centered all his prayers on himself so God could fortify him.
You may not be the leader in the household that provide the need of the family physically, however you can decide to be the leader that provide spiritual need for the family in the place of prayer. Stand in the gap for your family. Be the rock that God can use for your family. Intercede on your behalf and surround your life with the blood of Jesus. Prayer keeps evil away. The more the devil is far from you the more closer you are to God and His power. Just as the prayer of Jabez worked for him, your prayers would work for you, in Jesus Name. Seek the face of God!
Prayer points for the day
- 1) Father, thank you for keeping evil away far from me and my household, in Jesus Name.
- 2) Father, thank you for the gift of another season of blessing and healing indeed in my life, in Jesus Name.
- 3) Lord, let your Holy Spirit penetrate into my life indeed this month, in Jesus Name.
- 4) Lord, let your mighty and powerful hands keep evil far away from me and my household, in Jesus Name.
- 5) Father, let your Holy Spirit release incredible healing into my life this month, in Jesus Name.
- 6) Lord, let me have total healing all round this month, in Jesus Name.
- 7) Lord, I turn the battle of my life to you, fight for me and put the devil to shame, in Jesus Name.
