“GOD’S COMMENDED LOVE”

Romans 5:8

"But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us"

The above passage is an exemplary example of God’s way of loving us unconditionally. His love for us is not because of what we have done or what we have not done. In general, we are undeserving of His love, yet He demonstrated this uncommon love towards us even in our mess.

Though there is love of God for the sinners, God does not show love for our sins. Sin is appalling to God and as such God Hates sins. God commended His love unconditionally to us in the sacrifice of His only begotten Son. He wants us to be cleansed and be able to be justified in His unconditional love towards us.

The question this morning is that, are we able to show love to those that have wronged us without demanding certain conditions or requirements? Another question is can we love as God has loved us?  Let us use the love of God as a weapon to secure love for all and sundry that come across our lives. To love unconditionally may be a challenge, but like we read yesterday, it is made possible by Gods all sufficient grace and will be divinely rewarding in the end. Love is one of the unchangeable attributes of God. Unconditional love brings peace and harmony. However, some one must be prepared to pay the price to love unconditionally. Praise God.
