“GENERATIONAL MERCY” : Wednesday July 5

Luke 1:50

"And His mercy is on them that fear Him from generation to generation."

In the Bible days it was Justice that preceded mercy. The Old Testament was an”eye for an eye” but Jesus was sent by the mercy of God to remove judgement upon sinners and apply mercy. As there is generational justice so there is generational mercy.

Transferred mercy is better than transferred judgement. Every body wants to inherit generational mercy if available and no one wants to inherit generational judgement. In 1 Kings 21:29, the children of King Ahab inherited the judgement that was due to him for killing Naboth and acquiring his vineyard. God said he would not bring evil for evil in the days of Ahab; but in his sons’ days. (LORD HAVE MERCY ON THE INNOCENT SOULS IN JESUS NAME)

Ahab received mercy but the sons received Justice/judgement for nothing. When someone receives mercy there will be a correspondence Justice for another. Ahab humbled himself with fasting and renting of his cloths before the Lord. When Ahab confessed his sins, he followed with humility in fasting and God’s mercy was provoked for him. Cultivate the heart of humility. Admit your iniquities and transgressions. No excuses or ignorance can waive or overrule Justice. May the blessings of mercy follow our generation in Jesus Name. Amen.
