Matthew 23:3
"All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not."
Another angle to the weightier matters is to say and to do. If we attend to the tithe, offering and giving aspects and continue to saying and not doing, we have neglected the weightier matters that Jesus was talking about in Matthew 23:23.
The love of projects and money than souls of mankind has led the church to the point of not paying more attention to weightier matters. Jesus is still against leaders of today, like the Sadducees and the Pharisees who have abandoned the issues relating to sanctification and salvation.
If the followers and apostles of Jesus observed and did what HE admonished; then the church leaders must also be in the position to say, observe and do. Let us ask for the grace to be able to say and to do. Saying without doing is not an acceptable service to God. In actual fact, that is deceiving ones self, in the highest order. Let us walk in the light of the weightier matters so that we can be complete Christians. Amen.
Prayer points for the day
1) Father, thank you for yet another day of your great grace and glory, in Jesus Name.
2) Lord, arise and help me to keep my heart to weightier matters, in Jesus Name.
3) Father, grant me the grace to say and to do, in Jesus Name.
4) Lord, help me to be a complete and total Christian, in Jesus Name.
5) Father, as this year is going to an end, let me and my family end well, in Jesus Name
6) Lord, let me serve and worship you acceptably, in Jesus Name.
7) Father, open my ears and eyes to the weightier matters, in Jesus Name. Amen.
