Ezra 9:13
"And after all that is come upon us for our evil deeds, and for our great trespass, seeing that thou our God hast punished us less than our iniquities deserve, and hast given such deliverance as this"
From the Bible passage above, there is exceeding grace of God upon the Israelites. The God that planned for their captivity is the same God that planned their deliverance. What an excellent and Exceeding Grace of God the people enjoyed. Thereafter, God did not allow much punishment to be meted on them. God showed grace, favor and mercy for His Own people.
Brethren, we are not better than the people of old, but for JESUS. Who has taken away all our evil deeds upon Himself on the cross. Not only that, He took upon Himself our trespasses and went to the cross to die for us so that we can live.
It was the cross of CHRIST that was in the future mind and sight of God that He decided to punish the people less than their sins deserved and upon that God gave them tremendous deliverance and provided for all their needs. It was the compassion of God that was passed on to Jesus and then to us. However sinking any one might be in his/her sins, as long as there is life there is hope of redemption and forgiveness. Just take this admonition this morning as a turning point away from sin and to God; looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your Faith. Keep standing. There is Exceeding Grace in all things. Trust God for your total deliverance in all things and you will Praise God forever. Amen.
