“DOWN TO EGYPT FOR HELP” – Part III

Isaiah 31:1

"Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong ; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord."

Staying on horses and trusting in chariots cannot guarantee help for safety or victory. The battle we fight is of the Lord, therefore, the arrangement for victory rests solely on HIM. Against the Assyrians, it was only one angel of the Lord that God engaged to destroy one hundred and eighty five thousand soldiers in one night. What a Mighty God we serve that can come to our rescue in a way we cannot even imagine!

One with God is with the majority. You may be in minority and small number, but when God is involved you can be rest assured that you are mighty in number. Verse 3 of Isaiah 31, confirms that Egyptians are men like you and not God. They cannot do what our mighty God can do to help or weaknesses. Why look at man as if they have divine power to help? The Bible in Psalms 60:11 confirms that “…for vain is the help of man”

The horses and chariots are made by God. It is better to trust the Almighty God, the maker of those horses and chariots. Trusting in God is trusting in the source of all helps. God cannot fail, but horses and chariots can fail if there is no more supply for them to re-energize them. Seek God first and HIS righteousness and all other things shall be added unto you.
