“DOWN TO EGYPT FOR HELP” – Part I

Isaiah 31:1

"Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong ; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord."

Any one that goes to look for help in “Egypt” is already down and will eventually fall and fail. The Bible passage explicitly mentioned the reasons why the people of God go down to Egypt for help. The Egyptians are many and very strong. “Egypt” here represents man and his power.

However strong the Egyptians might be, they cannot be as strong as our God that is Omnipotent. They are men, and may be craftier. The people of God then and now always forget one basic fact that God is stronger than the strongest and wiser than the wisest. One finger of the Holy one of Israel can neutralize all the strength of Egypt in a moment. Why then we go down with Egypt?

Brethren, it is good to seek for the help of God. Rest assured that HIS help is eternally sustainable, always available at the very point of our need. God’s help is more dependable and reliable. Trusting in horses and chariots is a set up for failure. Horses get tired and chariots need to be maintained. One angel of the Lord is capable to take care of your needs for provision and protection from the Lord. God can never be tired of helping HIS people if we trust HIM and seek after His power for help. He is our divine Helper! Amen.
