“DIVINE INTERVENTION BY THE ANGEL OF THE LORD” Part 1 : Thursday August 7

2 Kings 19:35

"And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the Lord went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand : and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses"

This devotional is a follow up to the last two days. King Hezekiah laid the letter received from King Sen-nach-er-ib of Assyria at the altar and called on God to intervene in the terrible war that was about to start. Jerusalem was small in arms and army but Assyria was big and outnumbered the army of Jerusalem; still God gave the small Jerusalem victory.

When God saw the petition of king Hezekiah, God was determined to defend the city of Jerusalem and prove that He was their God. Refer to verse 34 of this same chapter. When God speaks, there will be a divine intervention somehow. God will speak out and intervene in your case today, in Jesus Name. Amen and Amen.

The battle was to be fierce and there was no means of victory for the small Jerusalem, but for divine intervention by God, who is bigger and stronger than all the Assyrian army and its king. God intervened to destroy the hundred four scores and five thousand ; and the wicked king Sen-nach-er-ib was subsequently taken out by his own sons. Please refer to 2 kings 19: 37. God is able to take care of your numerous enemies by a single divine intervention. Amen.
