Exodus 19:4-5

"4) Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles wings and brought you unto myself. 5) Now therefore, if you will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine."

It is not always easy to forget what we see with our eyes, rather than what is heard with ears. What we see with our eyes sink because it is visual. The Israelites saw what God did on their behalf to diminish the Egyptians. Still the people of God did not believe what their eyes have seen.

However, one would have thought that the people could not disbelieve what they have seen with their eyes. If that happened, then it means that they could disbelieve their eyes!!!!. It goes further to say that they disobeyed the voice of God, despite the miracles they encountered with their eyes. If they disbelieved what they have seen, then they will surely disobey God.

However, there is a covenant for obedience and God promised to make the people that indeed obey His voice and keep the covenant as peculiar treasure; who are special to Him. The peculiar people are always under the special care of God. They enjoy the full blessings of God from all areas, because of the covenant. Why? God owns the whole earth and He deals with with the fullness thereof in the manners He wants. Amen.
