1 Kings 17:22
"And the Lord heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived".
The above passage refers us to the miraculous healing of the widow’s son by God who heard the voice of Elijah. The prayer Elijah prayed was in verse 21. “O Lord my God, I pray thee, let this child’s soul come into him again” and the Lord heard and did exactly as Elijah requested. What was the standing of Elijah with God that God revived the child? Elijah must have the right motive, was in the right equation with God, and doing the will of God.
God can still listen to His prophets and requests of His children. He can still do according to that you and I place before Him in prayer. We can also be a prophet to someone today like Elijah. God still heals and revives in the real sense. God can still reverse the irreversible God can still turn impossibility to possibility. God can still do such things; like miracles that can amaze your adversaries about your sickly child or disobedient child. God is more than able to do exceedingly and beyond our imagination.
In conclusion today, whenever we pray, let us be expectant and remain steadfast that God has a way to attend to our individual circumstances. God heard Elijah because he (Elijah) was hearing God. He was listening to God all the time and God ensured that his prayers must be answered. Elijah prayed and was direct with his request; he did not beat around the bush. He knew the urgency required for the revival of the soul of the child. Do you know the urgency required in that your situation? Even if you do not know; God knows. Ask God to work in the area that is most urgent in your life go straight to the point with contrite and clear conscience and God will listen to you as He listened to Elijah.
