Psalm 40:2-4
“He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord."
A new song is similar in nature to a new thing. When someone sings a new song, it is an indication of a new thing of celebration must have just happened. The life of King David and other men and women of God were full of new songs. As a result, many were able to see the magnificent and miraculous works of God. They had reverential fear of God and depended mainly in the powerful Name and act of God for victory.
The above verses reveal the power of God to remove someone from horrible pits. Such a pit is not fun for people like the warrior in David, hence he called it horrible. To be out of pit is victorious and caused for celebration, with a new song.
No pit is comfy, therefore, all pits are horrible. A pit is a place of loneliness in the wilderness, stagnation, challenges, physical/emotional pain, or any other type of trail or tribulation, Coming out of a pit is equal to coming out of such troubles. We have been in and out of pit many times without having a new song, because we do not always realize we are out. Declare that you are out from that pit, this moment in Jesus Name. Amen. With Jesus, you can make it and you can prevail. Amen.
