“A GREAT MAN”

Daniel 2:48

"Then the King made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon"

What is the revelation that the Bible passage above carries this morning? It carries the manifestation of the helping hands of God plus exceeding grace upon the life of Daniel that was taken captive from Jerusalem to Babylon. Daniel was one of the prophets who experienced God in extraordinary and exceeding ways.

Another insight into this passage is that the same source of Daniel’s captivity became the source of his greatness. No man or king can make any one great without the helping hands of God. Beginning from the day of his captivity; God stepped specially into the ‘boat’ of Daniel’s life; hence He took him from being a captive to be a ruler over the whole of Babylon where he was initially a slave.

How could this be? When God is in it, there is no limit to the heights a man can go. God is ever present in your life and if you realize that God is in every land, then what happened to Daniel can happen to you despite what may be enslaving and ensnaring you. When you move closer to Jesus in truth and spirit, God can relate with you as Daniel. God revealed secret ideas that made the king to promote Daniel above every wise man in Babylon. HE is still the same God. Divine secrets were revealed to Daniel because of exceptional grace of God. Remember, he was not the only young man taken out of Jerusalem into the captivity of Babylon, but God orchestrated a plan that saw Daniel to the top. Amen.
